I am delighted and very proud to announce that I have been awarded the title of the Guild of Photographers All Round photographer of the year 2013. This is the second year I have held this title. To be awarded one photographer of the year title in a lifetime is amazing, but to retain this title for a second year in 2013 is a huge achievement.
Many associations base their ‘Photographer Of The Year’ awards on the judging of one image. The Guild of Photographers does things differently! The title chase is particularly demanding as images are judged each month throughout the year. Over a thousand images are entered each month, with only a small percentage attaining recognition in the form of monthly awards. So the winners have to produce images of a consistently high standard literally month after month in order to win.
Guild Director Steve Thirsk said – “Charlotte has done incredibly well to win this title for two consecutive years. I don’t know a more demanding competition process anywhere. To come out on top after being assessed by a highly acclaimed judging panel over a 12 month period is quite remarkable”.
A number of the equestrian photographs that I submitted during the year were awarded silver and bronze bars. All these images shown here have been awarded silver or bronze bars based on their technical merit, story telling, post processing and creativity.
