About your photographer

Welcome. My name is Charlie Bellamy.

From the age of 5 years old I was sitting on a horse; loving my weekly riding lessons, pony shows, many falls, and finally the ownership of a horse some 30 years later. My life has always involved horses. Bringing my love of horses together with my passion for photography has been an exciting development for me.

Despite many years of lessons, and borrowing horses and ponies to ride, I always knew that what I was missing was the ability to develop a relationship with any one of them. My very own horse has given me that opportunity, and has taught me so much about myself.

Having spent hours riding, watching horses and ponies in the field, schooling, at competition and rest I can appreciate the smallest details that are special to you as a horse owner. I know how important it is to have photos that showcase not only your achievements, but also the relationship you have with your horse.

I have had my own photography business for 7 years, and as well as equestrian photography, I have photographed weddings, individual and family portraits. In 2012 and 2013 I was named as The Guild of Photographers "multi genre" photographer of the year in the UK. Over the last two years I have achieved over 159 awards from the organisation, including an elusive gold bar and several highly sought silver bars.

Since 2012 I have called the Netherlands home, having moved here from the UK with my family. English is my first language, but my Netherlands improves daily! I have lived in over 5 different countries around the world, and love to travel the world. When I'm not with my horse or my camera, I'm found walking our dog, looking after our chickens and enjoying time with my husband and son.
